ABOUT

The giant squid is feared as the bringer of death and the destroyer of finely-made wooden vessels. But this fear is misplaced because most squid are friendly and gentle creatures who have an appreciation for art and a well-developed sense of humour. The ships that were attacked — and eaten — met a small minority of grouchy giant squid, and their distant cousins the grouchy giant octopi. And the Kraken, well, he's just misunderstood. He gets lonely off the coast of Norway because nobody will visit him in the crushing depths of the ocean so he occasionally comes to the surface to make new friends. Clearly we humans are the monsters for screaming in terror at the sight of him.

Squid & Ink shares the squid's appreciation for art and humour, and it presents its readers with some of the best comics from local and web comic authors, as well as industry articles, interviews, and guides. The first issue of the Squid & Ink is scheduled to be released early 2008, and subsequent issues will be published every other month.
